LORRY GOES OVER BANK [Per Press Association ] GISBORNE, Nov. 3. A motor lorry owned by Sushfames, the driver being Cumming, went over a bank at Wharerata Hill this morning, and fell 300 feet. It was considerably damaged. Sushames was badly cut about the head. His condition is not serious. The driver was not injured. CHILD STRUCK BY TRAIN WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. A railway accident occurred at Tawa Flat this morning. Joan Phillips, aged two years and four months, strayed on to the railway line about 200 yards south of the Tawa Flat station, and was struck by the engine of a trtiin which was on its way from Palmerston to Wellington. The child was immediately brought to Wellington and admitted to the hospital. The authorities report that the injuries to her head and face are serious.
