WELLINGTON SESSIONS. PRISONERS SENTENCED. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. At the Supreme Court this morning, the following prisoners were - sentenced: Alexander Carter, guilty of carnal knowledge, two years’ probation, the costs of - prosecution to be paid within nine months; Frank Blackhani, guilty of breaking, entering and theft, six months’ imprisonment; Joseph Charles Robertson, on seven charges of breaking, entering and theft, being a rogue and vagabond, and having in his possession a set of skeleton keys, two years’ hard labour and ordered to be declared an habitual criminal; Jack Washington Swiny, for arson, was ordered nine months’ reformative detention. CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS. TWO YEAR SENTENCES. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 23. At the Supreme Court, Janies Laurenson, aged 35, for theft from the Postal Department and forgery was sentenced to reformative treatment for two years. Albert Charles Thompson, aged 25, for theft from the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. was ordered a similar sentence. Robert Henry Edgworth, aged 50, for theft of a bicycle, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
