CLEARING POSTAL BOXES

(To the Editor). Sir, —Many important mails close at the G.P.O. on Monday mornings. For many moons I have posted in the rural letter boxes, fondly thinking these boxes were cleared on Sunday nights and that I was catching the early morning’s mails, only to fii»d out now this is not so. It states on many of the boxes “except Saturday,” but surely that implies a Sunday night clearance, which would only seem commonsense, as many people clean up their correspondence at the week-end, and post on Sunday night on their way to church, and many people in the past must have missed mails which they fully hoped they had caught. Hoping the publicity will rectify this.—l am, etc., MIGRANS. Wanganui, October 20.
