ANGRY DENTISTS

HOSPITAL BOARD IGNORES THEM [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Oct. 21 The Hospital Board, received a letter from nine members of the honorary staff of the Dental Hospital as a pro test against the Board’s action in re questing the Government to exten protection for unregistered dentists un til the contemplated protective legisla tion is obtained. The staff claimed the right to have been consulted before action was taken on an ex parte state ment. The chairman (Mr Wallace) said that it would be a sorry day when a policy would be dictated to the Board in such a manner. It convinced him that the attitude of the Board towards unregistered dentists was right. He moved that the resignations be accepted, adding that if applications were invited outside of the association there would be plenty of replies. Other members protested that there was no honorary dental staff, and urged that the whole thing be ignored. The Board resolved that the letter be received and no action taken.
