ATTITUDE TOWARD LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Received October 20, 8.45 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 20. Tn the Assembly, Mr J. T. Lang was heckled regarding his intentions concerning the Legislative Council. Ho declined to be drawn into making a statement. Speaking at the Country Press Association conference, Mr Lang said ho had no desire to make Legislative Councillors. He wished there were none. He held certain political opinions, and while he was leader of tho Government he intended to carry them out. Certain gentlemen had said he could not, but if the Government was still the greatest power in the land he would achieve his wishes.
