EXTENSIVE PLANTING OPERATIONS BY N.Z. PERPETUAL FORESTS, LTD. Bondholders and others interested in N.Z. Perpetual Fortsts, Ltd., will appreciate the progress which has been made in planting operations. A total of 9700 acres has been planted with Pinus Insignis. Other pioneer companies have also planted extensively. Afforestation Ltd. has planted 2000 acres, while Putaruru Forests Ltd. has also completed 1000 acres and now negotiations have been made by N.Z. Perpetual Forests, Ltd., whereby 35,000 acres will be planted in the next planting season. All these companies are in the Smith Wylie group. An excellent series of views illustrating the work was published in “The Auckland Weekly News” (1/10/25). Every phase of the planting operations is depicted. The extensive panoramic views of nurseries and planted areas define clearly the magnitude of the work already accomplished. To protect Bondholders in N.Z. Perpetual Forests, Ltd., arrangements have been made with The Australasian Forestry Bondholders’ Trust Company, Ltd. This company will have unusual supervisory powers in the administration. The Bondholders have complete control of the Trust Company, and the Forestry Company has no right to the appointment or removal of the Trustee Directors. Prior to the formation of the Trust Company, the Bondholders’ interests were safeguarded by individual trustees. The security of the Trust Company, and the definite assurance of the performance of all contracts, stamps N.Z. Perpetual Forests Ltd. with the hall mark of a genuine investment. The success of N.Z. Perpetual Forests, Ltd., is well deserved, for it is performing a great national work of patriotic as well as profit value, and the favourable remarks of recent distinguished visitors, such as Viscount Burnham, Leader of the Empire Press Delegation, and also the Hon. Crawford Vaughan, ex-Premier of South Australia, are essentially an accolade which few people can ignore.
