ULIMAROA TIED UP
CREW PAID OFF NZ PASSENGERS SUFFER HARDSHIPS. Received October 19, 8.45 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 19. The Ulimaroa’s crew were paid off to-day, and the ship tied up. The Union Company is- inundated by applications for berths on the Maunganui, which is sailing on Friday. ! The hold-up of the Ulimaroa is causing considerable hardship among a number of second-class passengers returning to New Zealand. They are now put fo extra expense through the delay at Sydney. Stead’s team— Imitation, Bon Chose, Othou, High Pitch, Sir Kay, Astron and Valvular—also Mr H. P. Blundell’s horses Sottano, Starshell, and Diogenes, which were shipped aboard the Ulimaroa, were landed to-day and returned to their quarters at Randwick, pending later opportunity for shipping them to New Zealand.
