THE SOVIET
FIRMLY ESTABLISHED NATION ACHIEVING ECONOMIC REGENERATION OPINION OF BRITISH LABOUR DELEGATION By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 19, 11.5 p.m.” LONDON, Oct. 18. Definite opinions on the Soviet’s reconstruction are expressed by a party of five Labour ALP. ’s after a tour of Russia. They declare that the Soviet is firmly established with majority support, while throughout the nation there is evidence it is achieving economic regeneration. It expects next j year to equal pre-war production. ‘‘ln I our judgment it will be an economic disaster to Britain if she continues her policy which tends to exclude British goods from her great present and potential market. Out of two million sterling worth of agricultural machinery imported in eight months, only £lO,OOO worth was from Britain. Responsible members of the Soviet are willing and anxious for negotiations with Britain to clear up outstanding questions and conclude a reasonable treaty to prepare a path of political goodwill between the two countries.”
