“BRILLIANT AND FEARLESS”

TRIBUTE TO DEAD PROFESSOR. A LOSS TO THE NATION. LONDON, Oct. 18. Medical evidence at the inquest disclosed that Professor Lefroy was not suffering from a malignant disease. The coroner found that death was due to misadventure, and said that Professor Lefroy was a brilliant and fearless research worker who had died while endeavouring to benefit humanity. He worked alone and had not disclosed the nature of the substance with which he was experimenting. Apparently he was suffering from some form of blood poisoning extending over years and due to repeated inhalations of noxious fumes and vapours. The nation deplores his untimely death.
