ANNUAL MEETING ; ELECTION OF OFFICERS The first annual meeting of the Wan- ; ganui Winter Show was held on Satur- , day evening, Mr J. Patterson presiding over a large attendance. Report and Balance Sheet The secretary’s report and balance- • sheet showed the society to have had a very trying time through the inclei ment weather experienced at the four days of the show, but the storm had been weathered and the year had proved of great use in equipping the inem- ; bers for future occasions. The comments of outsiders regarding the show were most encouraging, and Wanganui’s winter show of the future may be expected to easily eclipse the efforts of 1925. Election of Officers. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —President, J. Patterson; vice-presidents, Jas. Grant, H. Melville, W. Gaze; committee, Messrs P. Mailman, E. Hardy, D. Wright, J. Fraser, E. Hylton, H. Otto, S. Cross, B. Kench, H. Hall, G. Smith, F. Wilson, E. Douglas, A. J. Whyman, T. Dow; treasurer, Mr Chas. Nelson; secretary, Mr F. G. Scddon. President’s Address. The president gave a short account of his visit to the Wembley Exhibition and Sydney Royal Agricultural Show and spoke of Wanganui’s necessity for large and suitable buildings for the future shows. Votes of Thanks. Votes of thanks' were accorded the Press for the assistance rendered the Show committee, the various donors of shields, cups and trophies, the city’s bands, the A. and P. Association, and the Jockey Club. Social. The meeting then adjourned to a social repast very kindly provided by lhe president, and the following toasts were honoured: ‘‘The King”; “Wanganui Winter Show”; “Visitors”; “The Pigeon Club”; “Agricultural and Pastoral Association”; “Jockey Club”; “Toy Dog Club.” Songs were rendered by Messrs Jas Patterson, Joe Patterson, P. Mailman, F. W. Wilson and E. Hylton and a recitation was given by Mr H. Otto. The proceedings terminated by the singing of “Auld Lang Syup/J
