SECOND CRUTCHINGS SALE
PRICES ON LEVEL WITH AUGUSf SALE FARMERS’ CO-OP REPORT (Special to “Chronicle.”) WELLINGTON, Oct. if. The* N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distribut* ing Co., Ltd., report as follows:—The second crutching sale of the season was held in Wellington to-day when we submitted a catalogue comprising 155 bales, consisting mainly of crutchings. There was a full attendance of buyers and competition was keen, and at times quite animated. Prices generally were about on a par with the last crutching sale held in August, although the selection generally could hardly be considered as good. Bidding was well spread, but the bulk of the lots fell to buyers representing Japan, the Continent and Dominion scourers. The best price realised by us was 10}d for a really good lot on account of J. Dillon Hocking, of Feilding. . We quote: Jhd/Ngatawa super crutch* ings HHd, Maka hogget crutchings 9|df Kamano Ist crutchings BAd, Wind crutchings BAd, Tmk crutchings 9jd Ruakaha crutchings Bd, ‘Hikorangi* crutchings 9]d, various crutchings 9d. DALGETY AND CO.’S REPORT (Special to “Chronicle.”) WELLINGTON, Oct. 16. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report: Th# crutching sale was held to-day with a representative bench of buyers. Prices were quite on the level of the August sale:—Good crossbred fleece 11 Ad to 13Ad, medium IOAd to 11 |d, seedy and inferior 9d to 10d, good crossbred crutchings 9|d to 10|d, medium 7jd to 9d, seedy and inferior 5d to 6Jd.
