SYRIAN CAMPAIGN
FRENCH CASUALTIES. PARIS, Oct. 15. Replying to a member of the Finance Commission, M. Painleve stated that the French losses in the Syrian campaign to July last were 6042. He promised to supply the figures of the losses to September 13. A PUBLIC EXHIBITION BEBEL DEAD BROUGHT IN Received October 16, 8.45 pm. BEIRUT, Oct. 15. French operations against brigands in the Damascus region resulted in the complete rout of a band, of which a hundred were shot. Twenty-four bodies are being brought back to Damascus where they will be exhibited publicly.
