KING NOT VISITING COLONIES AN IMPRACTICABLE SUGGESTION. BUT DUKE OF YORK MAY OPEN CANBERRA. By Telegraph—Per Press Assn. —Copyright. Received Oct. 16, 7.30 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 15. Colonial Office unhesitatingly discredits the rumour that the King is considering a grand tour of the Empire in 1926, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, incidentally opening the Federal Parliament at Canberra. The Colonial Office states it is not only unprecedented but impracticable, because it would necessitate putting the Crown into commission at least six months. Nevertheless, it is quite possible the Duke of York will open Canberra.
