FOREST FIRE.
40,000 ACRES DESTROYED. Received Julv 26. 5.5 p.m. LONDON, July 25. The Daily Express’ Berlin correspondent states that a forest fire destroyed 40.000 acres of valuable timber land and many farms and residences between Hanover and Osnabruck. A thousand lire brigades, aided by several regiments of Reichswehr, fought the flames by trenching. Hundreds were deprived of homes.
