(Sun . OTTAWA, July 23. Leslie Hathaway robbed a bank at Thorndale. Four clerks lived above the. bank and Hathaway at midnight herde-d them in the vault while he stole six thousand dollars and drove away in an automobile. When he had dri on six miles out of town ho became 'worried as to whether the clerks had been suffocated, and returned and found. himself unable to open the vault. He called police and assisted to get an export. who freed the clerks, tla.'haway quietly slipped away again, but an unlucky chance caused his arrest in the next town.
