FIRE IN TIMARU TECHNICAL SCHOOL

(Per Press Association.*) TIMARU, July 24

Shortly after four o’clock this morn ing the Fire Brigade was called to the Technical School, where it was found that the woodwork department owned bv the Education Board and containing much valuable machinery and timber was in flames. The lire had a strong hold and as it was impossible to save the building the brigade concentrated its efforts on preventing the flames from spreading to the adjoining premises. In this case the brigade was successful.

The building whore the fire started was completely destroyed. The loss will be severe and will interrupt the activities of the school in that department. It is understood that there wore no insurances.
