GOOD PRICES ALL ROUND. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 22. There was quite a. good sale at Burnside to-day .from venlor.s’ point of view. Prices generally ruled high. Fat Cattle. —There was a yarding of 219 head compared with 178 last week. The quality showed improvement on that of a week ago. There were some pens of medium heifers and cows, and some extra, cho.ee bullocks. the demand at the opening was fairly strong and this was maintained to the close. Extra choice ox beef sold at equal to from 50s to 52s 6d per lOOlbs. medium quality ox from 46s to 48s; prime, boilers, to 455: rind light heifers and cows from 32s 6d to 27s 6d; aged cows, to 30s: extra prime bullocks. £24 las: prime. £lB .1 (is to £22: medium to £l7 10s; extra prime heifers, £l3; prime cows. £l2 13s.
Fat Shoop.—An entry of 2367 com pared with 1960 last week. The quabtv was very fair. There were not a great many extra heavy wethers forward, but a number of good penning* of crossbred wethers and useful owes, together with a sprinkling of fine wools, were in evidence. The sale opened well, but the demand dragged a bit. Prices went down about Is, but firmed again later. Generally, the rates were much on a par with those of last week for wethers, while ewes were a trifle firmer. Exporters were not buying prime lighter weights. Wethers sold at from 7d Io 7’d? prime heavy wethers. 6Jd to 7d; prime ewes to s}d; aged and light owes, 41,d to 3d; extra prime heavy wethers, went to 32s 6d; prime heavy. 46s to 48s; prime, 33s 6d to 44s 6’l; extra prime heavy ewes went to 44s 9d; prime. 32s (id to 365; lighter from 28s 6d.
Lambs.—An entry of 188 head, compared with 200 last sale. The quality was only medium, there being many unfinished lambs. The demand was quiet. Prime lamb sold at from 9Jd to lOd; second quality, round about 9d; prime lambs made from 30s (id to 335; medium. 25s to 29s (id; light and unfinished, 15s Cui to 23s 6d. Store Cattle.—Some 250 were yarded, mostly cows and inferior young sorts. There were a few’ odd pens of steers. The demand all round was capital. Young forward bullocks went to £lO 1.7 s fld; three-year-olds to £9; other classes met a good demand. pigs.—There were 99 fats and 37 slips. Porkers were fully 5s dearer, and baeoners about the same as last week. Prime porkers sold up from 9d to 9Jd per pound, baeoners, from 8d to Bdd.
