DAIRY PRODUCE
LOADING PORTS DEFINED (Per Press Associ.nlion.) NEW PLYMOUTH. July 22. The rumour that New Plymouth was to he cut out as a port for loading dairy produce drew a denial from Air H. D. Forsyth, a member of the Dairy Produce Control Board, who indicated the future policy of the board in regard to the despatch of produce. “There is no intent ioji whatever of cutting out the Port of New Plymouth at the present time.’’ Air Forsyth declared. “Shipping companies do not want to cut out any of the larger ports. Thev are anxious to have them all ineluded. Further, they say. w.hen interviewed. they have to cal) at these ports to unload and that they might as well be picking up produce. 1 can quite assure von that there, is no intention of
cutting out the port. We have practically decided to set up our offices at ports to attend to direct shipment.” continued Mr Forsyth, “and the ports for the North Island will be Wellington, Auckland and New Plymouth, and for the South Island. Lyttelton. Bluff and Port Chalmers. Ar far as shipping in the future is concerned we have other matters under consideration, but they are not ripe for publication at the present time. AVe have the promise of much bettor prospects of equal and regular deliveries of dairy produce for the coming season than we have been having in the past. A good deal of produce has been transhipped to Wellington, but anything we could send direct has been sent and wo intend to carry out that policy in the future.”
