PRICE OF IMPORTING OPIUM (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 22. The Customs officers found a quantity of opium on the steamer Hermes last evening, and as a consequence Yong Ah Wong, the ship’s boatswain, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court with importing opium in a form suitable for smoking. Wong admitted ownership, but explained that he kept the opium for sailors who came to him when they were ill. A fine of £5O was imposed.
