FATAL FIRE IN MELBOURNE

A FIREMAN KILLED COLLAPSE OF A PARAPET. Received Julv 20, 10.15 p.m. MELBOURNE. July 29. A fire in S. B. Harris Ltd.’s boot factory in the city caused £6OOO damage. Shortly after the brigades arrived the •oncrote parapet of the building collapsed. falling on three firemen. F. Molness (aged 31 ) was killed instantaneously. and Albert McHenry and Herbert Gill injured and sent to hospital. Holness is the first member of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade to be killed fighting a fire in Melbourne. Two other firemen narrowly escaped the falling wall.
