MARRIAGE LAWS DISCUSSED. LONDON, July 12. A conference of British Commonwealth women at which women’s organisations in overseas Dominions were well represented, discussed the inequalities of the marriage laws of the Dominions, and adopted a resolution demanding that the Dominions legislate along the lines of the resolution adopted by the House of Commons, enabling British women to make declaration in cases of marriages with aliens, also protesting against the loss of status of women from other parts of the Commonwealth on entering South Africa and the province of Quebec, and inlUnr on the Government of those countries to grant women suffrage. Other reso'utions were adopted demanding economic equality for women, legislation providing equal pay for equal work ami a free field, removal of obstacles against the employment of married women, also basing protective legislation upon the nature of work and not upon sox. The Commonwealth League is a now jbodv under the secretaryship of Miss ' Collison, of Australia, the idea of which is to collaborate with overseas I women’s organisations to advance the women’s standpoint.
