WELLINGTON SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALE
The various brokers report: —We hold our fortnightly sale of sheepskin', hides and tallow to-day, when we offered a good catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Dry sheepskins were in good demand and were, if anything. a little firmer than last sale. Salteds were about on a par with last sale. Hides were well competed for. Light hides, if anything, were a little firmer, whilst heavy were a. shade easier. Tallow was on a par with last sale. The following is the range of prices realised:— Sheepskins.—Halfbred, lljd to 14d; medium to coarse crossbred. 91d to .Hid: fine crossbred. lOd to short, and half wools, 8d to lid: lambs, Rd to 12d; dead and damaged crossbred, 7d to HHd; inferior and badly damaged, 2d to 72<1; pelts, 4d to 9i-J; damp, sal' cd and green, 5s to 9s lOd; lambs, silted. 2s 6d to 6s .lid. Hides.—Ox: Extra heavy. 9Jd to 9 7-8 d; heavy, 8 1-8 d to 94d; medium, 74d to 8 3-Sd; light, 6d to 7(1; cut, slippy and inferior, 2d to Rd. Cow: Heavy. 6d to 7d; medium, 6d to 6|J : light. 6 3-8 d to 6 7-8 d; cut. slippy and inferior, 34d to 6 l-Bd. Bull, stag. 3}d to s}d; yearlings. G)<l to 8 1 8d; year lings, heavy, 7d to SKI; calf, superior, 8 3-Sd; calf, medium to good, Gjd to 13 7-Rd; calm, damaged, 3KI to El 3-84. Tallow.—ln casks. 20s G4d to 34s 3d; in tins, etc., 24s 6d to 30s.
Sundries.—Horsehair, 162 d to 19d cow tails, 161 d to 17KI.
