LOOKING TO U.S.A.
AUSTRALIA WANTS MONEY LONDON, June 28. It is learned that there is definite evidence that both the Commonwealth and the Australian States will be borrowing in America in the near future. Negotiations are in progress, with the full approval of the British Government and the Bank of England. It is stated in financial circles that money is not available in Britain at present to finance the Dominions’ undertakings, and although doubtless it would be forthcoming if sufficiently liberal terms were offered, it would be raised only at the expense of some other undertakings.
