ROCKINGHAM HOTEL TRAGEDY
CAUSE OF THE DEED Received June 29, 11.45 p.m. PERTH. June 29. Mrs Moore and Doyle had gone to a Rockingham hotel in the company of two men, and registered themselves as single women. A note was found on Percy Moore’s body asking his mother’s forgiveness. (Two young women, named Stella Moore and Doyle, were sleeping in a bungalow in the grounds of an hotel at Rockingham. Mrs Doyle left the room for a few minutes, and on returning, found Moore with a bullet wound in the face and a man lying dead alongside the bed with a bullet through his head. Mrs Moore is not in a serious condition. It is stated that the dead man was her husband. He had crept with his boots off to the room and shot her and himself. Some weeks ago Moore, a resident of Geraldon, informed the police that his wife was missing, and traced her to Rockingham.)
