THE WOOL SITUATION

CONFERENCE AT BRADFORD. Received June 26, 8.30 p.m. LONDON, June 25. The Bradford Chamber of Commerce is organising a conference wsth the dominions’ wool growers, similar to that of last year, tjj be held at Bradford ou July 15 and 16. MELBOURNE, June 26. Although no finality was reached in regard to the acceptance or otherwise of Higgins’ wool realisation scheme, graziers in the Federal Council, after consultation with the Australian Wool Council and the National Council of Wool-selling Brokers, decided to submit the scheme to the various associations affiliated to the Graziers’ Council before making a final decision. Special consideration is asked for questions of dangers entailed through Government control and the uncertainty that may arise through the operation of the scheme, and the possibility of a serious disturbance between financial institutions and their pastoral clients by its acceptance.
