OVERVALUED LAND

A TARANAKI INSTANCE (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, June 25. The suggestion that the best farming lands in South Taranaki are overvalued by as much as one-third is contained in substantial reductions admitted by the Government officers who recently made a special revaluation of four blocks near Normar.by, comprising some of the richest lands in the i Hawera County and aggregating nearly ’ 1000 acres. The reduction I granted on the present unimproved ; value was over 34 per cent. ; When the hist valuation was made jin 1919 the total unimproved value of the 953 acres under notice was £51,595. The new figures set it down at £33 667.
