HEAVY RAIN ON EAST COAST
TRAFFIC INTERRUPTED (Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, June 1. Heavy rain has fallen in the East Coast districts, interrupting traffic. Ruatorea at present is isolated by road slips. For the 48 hours ended at 9 a.m. today BHn. of rain was recorded. At Ruatorca, in crossing a flooded stream north of Tokomaru Bay, a coach was carried over two chains down stream before getting across.
