TARANAKI v. WANGANUI Ihe most interesting regular annual fixture in Taranaki Association football, the match between the Taranaki and Wanganui representatives, will be played at Hawera on June 3, says a Taranaki writer. Following the match between Auroa and Hawera, at Hawera on Saturday, the sole selector (A|r. H. M. Kendall) completed the selection of the team to represent Taranaki. It comprises: Goal-keeper, J. Renwick; full-backs, Beere, Betteridge, half-backs, Rye, McCook, Dancer; forwards, Ramsay, Galloway (captain), Freakley, Campbell, Muggeridge; reserves, Forbes (half-back), G. Pollard (forward). As a curtain : raiser to this match a game will be played between the Hawera City A and City B Rugby teams. MATCH IN SYDNEY SYDNEY, June 1. Commenting on England’s display in the soccer match on Saturday, Mr Will Carroll, a well-known judge of form, believes that the English team would meets its Waterloo if pitted against the New Zealand side that toured Australia under the captaincy of George Campbell two years ago.
