SWANKERS’ CLUB APPEAL
FOR DISTRESSED FAMILIES The Swankors’ appeal on behalf of several eases of distress is meeting with the usual ready response by the publls, and it is gratifying to learn that the returned soldier whoso ease was reported recently' is now in no further need of assistance. The Patriotic Association had the ‘matter in hand, and they have made a grant which is quite liberal and suffi eient to ensure medical treatment at I’ukeora Sanatorium, The Swankors claim no credit for this grant, as Ilio Patriotic Association had the matter in hand before the Swankors wore ap. proacho.l. The other deserving cases of distress tiro being attended to by the Swankors whose funds are at a low ebb owing to the many calls on their resources, anr! any persons desirous of helping are requested to forward donations as early as possible to either of the local papers or to the secretary (Mr A. R. Donaldson. National Mutual Life Association, Ridgway Street.)
