LOCAL AGENTS 6 ADVICE. Messrs C. F. Millward and Co. advise that the Storm is due this morning from Pic ton end South. After discharge she sails for Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru and Dunedin. The Gale is due tc-day from Wellington and southern ports and will proceed io Lyttelton. The Breeze loads at Timaru to-day, Lyttelton to-morrow, Lyttelton Friday, WelUngton Saturday, Picton Monday; due here on Tuesday, August 5. The Calm loads at Bluff to-day, Dunedin Friday, Oamaru and Timaru Saturday, Lyttelton Monday, Wellington Tuesday; due here Wednesday, August 6. The Ihumata is at present discharging at Castlecliff. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. advise that the Invercargill is due here to-day instead, of Saturday. Messrs A. Hatrick and Co. Ltd. advise that Kapiti is now due from Wellington to-day. CANADIAN GOVERNMENT LINE. Mr. F. G. Wood, general manager of the Canadian Government Line of steamers, together with Mr. W. M. Luke, the manager at Christchurch, has been in town. These gentlemen inspected the harbour works and expressed themselves in very favourable terms as to the good work going on in connection with same. Messrs C. F. Millward and Co. have been appointed agents for this line of steamers for Wanganui, New Plymouth and Palmerston North districts. TAIROA DUE NEXT TUESDAY. The Tairoa, at New Plymouth, is expected to leave there next Tuesday for Wanganui, Gisborne and Wellington to complete loading. The Tairoa is due at Wellington on August 20. and will sail on August 25 for London, via Teneriffe. THE RUAPEHU. Loading of the Ruapehu was continued in the roadstead yesterday. She is expected to leave to-morrow for Wellington, where she completes her loading, and sails finally on August 5 for Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff and Avonmouth. TAIHITI FROM SAN FRANCISCO. The Union Co. advise that the R.M.S. Tahiti from San Francisco reached Papeete at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday last, and should leave Rarotonga to-day for Wellington, arriving there on Monday next. The vessel is to continue on her voyage to Sydney the following day. THE SCHOONER WAR LORD. The Marine Department has been advised that the schooner War Lord, which went ashore at Opoutama, near Waikokopu, about three weeks ago, has drifted further inshore and the hull settled into the sand to a depth of about 4 feet. There does not appear to be much chance of refloating the vessel at the present time. INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. Manuka arr.
