N.Z. CHEESE SPOILED.

ALLEGATION IN HOUSE OF COMMONS. LONDON, July 8. In the House of Commons, Mr. Perry alleged that 25,000 crates of eheese, which were recently held up in London stores awaiting higher prices, had become heated and unsaleable. He suggested that legislation should restrict the operations of interests controlling large supplies of foodstuffs. * The Hon. Mr. Sidney Webb replied thnt he had been informed that early arrivals of New Zealand cheese this year were more plentiful than usual, and it had been decided to place immature cheese in cold store in order to provide a reserve for the autumn. He was not aware that any appreciable wastage of cheese had occurred, but he would be glad of detailed information.
