MOSUL’S FUTURE
TURKEY SUGGESTS DIRECT NEGOTIATIONS. Received July 9, 10.30 p.m. CONSTANTINOPLE, July 8. Replying to the British Note, the Government rejects the proposal to submit the Mosul question to the council of the League of Nations, on the ground that the Treaty of Lausanne is not yet in force. It suggests direct negotiations, expressing the opinion that these will yield better results.
