REVOLUTION
RISING IN BRAZIL SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES FEARED. Revolution has broken out in Brazil. Sao Paulo has been captured, and it is reported that the revolutionaries have risen in the capital itself. Though the public are calm, there is a suggestion that the revolution may sweep the whole of Brazil. SAO PAULO CAPTURED Received July 7, 10.20 p.m. (Reuter.) BUENOS AIRES, July 6. Revolutionists have captured Sao Paulo, in Brazil, and secured control of the Federal Buildings after considerable fighting. A veiled message indicates that the occurrences rival in seriousness the outbreak at Rio Janeiro in 1922. REVOLUTION SPREADS TO RIO JANEIRO. (Sun Cable.) Received July 7, 11.40 p.m. NEW YORK, July 7. Advices from Buenos Aires state that it is reported that the revolution has spread into Rio Janeiro city.. An official communique dated Rio, Saturday, says: The public here remains calm, and has complete confidence in the Government. Other reports suggest that the revolution may sweep all Brazil. Troops have been sent to Sao Paulo to restore order.
