BUTTER AND CHEESE RISING

NEW ZEALAND ARTICLE FETCHING MORE THAN DANISH. Advice from London, dated June 27, shows that the butter and cheese market is firm, and New Zealand prices have a rising tendency. Dominion unsalted butter is being disposed of at from 194 s to 198 s, while salted is realising 182 s to 184 s. The prices received the previous week were: New Zealand unsalted, 190 s to 1945, and salted 178 s to 180 s. Cheese prices are as follows (last week’s figures being mentioned, in parentheses) : —New Zealand white, 94s to 96s (90s to 925); coloured, 93s to 94s (90s to 925) It is not known how much of last season’s produce is yet unsold, but as butter usually keeps pretty close up to the market, there is probably not a great deal left to catch the rise. New Zealand butter is now fetching ing more than the Danish article, which is quoted at from 184 s to 190 s. The previous week’s figures were 183 s to 184 s.
