In the Hoqse of Commons, the Government was defeated on a minor po nt in the Finance Bill by 220 to 165, but the defeat is unlikely to lead to serious consequences. Mr Baldwin’s attempt to secure adjournment of the discussion until the House knew whether the Government would accept the decision was defeated by 237 to 169.
