CAMP AT WAVERLEY
The territorial camp of the Queen Alexandra Mounted Regiment, under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel D. Munro, which was held on the Wayerley racecourse during the past eigjht days’, was a great success. Although 1 the weather was bad at times, excellent work was done. The variejus squadrons returned home yesterday. The A. Squadron, under Lieut. Ferens, arrived in Wanganui by the afternoon train. The band, numbering 28. under Lieut. G. Buckley, also arrived by /the same train. The band gave a recital in the Waverley Town Hall on, Saturday night in aid of the Agricultural Society. The function was /a great success. On Sunday moaning church parade, conducted by Padre-Bush-King. of Hawera, and Chapmin Fraser, of Normanby, was held at | the camp, after which the whole reginnent, numbering about 300, marched jto Waverley, headed by the band pilaying the march “Wairoa,” which | was th a original name of the regitnent. On Sunday afternoon, the banck gave another fine programme at thle camp, hundreds of visitors coming from the surounding district. 1
