AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS, ETC.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES “RUGGLES OF RED GAP.” To-night is the final screening of this luxurious treat, and this joyous comedy is undoubtedly one of the cleverest and most entertaining pictures Paramount has ever made. The scenes are extravagant in the extreme,, the fracking is on the most lavish and modern lines, and the humour displayed all through the story is wonderfully smart, making “Ruggles of Red Gap ” a production to be seen and thoroughly enjoyed by all ages. In cast are many of Paramount’s most •« popular players, Lois Wilson included. Some of the gayest scenes show Paris in all its gaiety. A rattling good comedy, the latest Gazette, together with the Paramount Premier Orchestra, make up a programme that should not to missed. “PRODIGAL DAUGHTERS.” Commencing to-morrow evening will be screened a super-production entitled “Prodigal Daughters.” This picture portrays the story of two little misses, very 1924 in thought and social education, who, resenting the interference of Dad in demanding their latch keys and curtailing their nocturnal liberty, decide, with many head-tossings and flouncings, to leave home. The adventures of the elder (Gloria Swanson) plunge her into an amateur Bohemia, and the younger (Vera Reynolds) dives into matrimony, each coming up for air very shortly and making for shore, where father waits with a lifeline, i.e., cheque book. Theodore Roberts does some good work as Dad. A lavish production done in the Paramount way. Box plan at H. I. Jones and Son ’s.
