Lord Loughborough has filed a petition in bankruptcy. The liabilities are set down at £18,120, and assets nil. Lord Loughborough gave evidence that his bankruptcy was due to extravagance in 1916, which he was unable to justify. His father then paid debts ot £ll,OOO, and in 1921 paid a further £9000." His present income was £1 per day. His wife possessed a separate income of £2OOO, and she kept up the household. The British Air Force pageant took place in fine weather, and attracted 100,000 to Hendon to see the evolutions of 200 of the latest military aeroplanes, ranging from twenty to five hundred horsepower, including air hospital machines. The various events were designed to demonstrate the actual work of the air force, but spectacular features were included. It was the first time French air force men assisted in the display.
