AUSTRALIA AND IMMIGRATION

SYDNEY, June 28. With the return to Australia of Senator Wilson., who has been negotiating with, the British Government regarding migration, it is expected that Premier Bruce will shortly be in a position to announce the terms of the new agreement. If the agreement is signed, nearly £40,000 000 will be available for development work in the Commonwealth during the next decade. In its present form the agreement provides for the payment of half the interest by the British Government for a period of five years, and one-third interest for the following five; the Commonwealth pays a quarter of the interest and the S-ates themselves the remainder. This money will probably be raised at 5 per cent.
