NARROW ESCAPE
NIAGARA NEARLY ASHORE. SAVED BY SKILFUL SKIPPER. Received June 29, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, June 29. The Niagara nearly went ashore in Darling Harbour in avoiding a cargo steamer outward bound. At one point she was within twenty-five yards of the shore, but skilful handling by the skipper averted an accident.
