CAGED WOMEN

SCENES AT A FAIR. Received June 29, 5.5 p.m. PARIS, June 24. Baroness Deslandes had recited part of a poem in a lions’ cage at Nevilly fair for the benefit of charity, when the lions became restive. The tamer urged her to cut the recitation short. The baroness hastily backed out. Madame Elfremova sang while lying on a divan in a tiger’s cage. Others sang and danced in cages before a fashionable audience.
