A remarkable discovery has been made in the course of a recent expedition into the Libyan desert (Africa). Tn a rand dune area, bare of any signs of human life, there was dtscoTered a huge store of huge pottery jars, mostly of ancient conical form. The discovery was made at a point aboiit 150 miles west, of Dakhla. The army of 40,000 men sent by Cumbyses the Persian king” to conquer Siwa, was totally lost somewhere in this region. Whether these jars can in any way be connected with that historic disaster yet remains 10 be proved.
