THE NEW HEBRIDES

QUESTIONS IN THE COMMONS. LONDON, June 24. A question by Dr. Chappell, in the House of Commons yesterday, regarding the New Hebrides, was prompted by reports from Australia of the Presbyterian Mission’s allegations of unsatisfactory conditions in the islands. Dr. Chappell stated to-day that he has so far received no satisfaction, but will continue to ask questions. If the authorities remain unalive to the necessity of rectifying the conditions out there, he will keep up the agitation until they do. "It is a trifling matter for France,” said Dr. Chappell, "but vitally important for the natives.”
