RAETIHI NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent) PROPOSED CROQUET CLUB.
A meeting of ladies interested in the formation of a eroquet club in Raetihi was held in the Library on Friday afternoon. Mrs. W. H. Sandford was elected to the chair, and them were twelve other ladies present. The proposal was fully explained by Mrs. Dawson, and several suggestions were made in regard to ground and finance. It was proposed to look at different sections with a view to purchasing a suitable one. The offer of Mrs. Sigley of the use of her lawn was accepted with thanks. The election of officers was then proceeded with and resulted as foll*ws:~-
President, Mrs. Boyd: vice-presi-dsntP, Mesdantes Sandford, Sigley, and Lynch; committee, Mesdamea Davis, Watkinson, Jennings, Mender, son, Pedersen, Brown and Thomson.
At present keen interest is being taken by the ladies in the project, and if the foundation members reeeivo the support they deserve the Raetihi Ladies’ Croquet Club will be an acquisition to
