HIS MAJESTY’S. Money is the root of all the evil that goes toward providing dramatic interest in the latest Katherine MaoDonald photo-play, which is now show, iug at His Majesty’s Theatre. “Money, Money, Money! ” is the title of the production, and Miss MacDonald explains the reason for it inZie role of Priscilla Hobbs, who, as the daughter of a struggling manufacturer, leads her father, through her own social ambitions, into signing a note for twenty thousand dollars in anticipation of a big legacy. The legacy proves to amount to about twelve dollars, but while the money lasts the “splurge” that Priscilla makes causes no end of talk in the little mid-western town of Thermopolis. The second feature is “The Man Between,” a highly dramatic story dealing with the trials and tribulations of a girl who was married to a man who deceived not only her, but even his own mother. There is some very beautiful scenery, as well as gorgeous settings, in this picture, whilst the sumptuous gowns will be a revelation to the fair | sex. The remainder of the programme takes the form of an extremely laughable Buster Keaton comedy. His t.lyjesty’s Select Orchestra is heard to a lvantage in a splendid selection of inch dental music, whilst Mr Trussell was loudly applauded on Saturday for uis xylophone solo, “The Colonial Hoy.” MUSGROVE CELEBRITY VAUDEVILLE. At His Majesty’s on Thursday evening Mr. R. A. Sheppard will present another complete new company of Musgrove Celebrity Vaudeville. The combination to be presented Here includes the star acts from tae Mnsgrove vaudeville shows now running at Auckland and Wellington. Still another top liner in the bill is Carr Lynn, the world’s greatest animal mimic, presenting “Fun in the Farmyard” and “On the Tiles with Thomas.” A superb contralto is Clare Solly. A French act, Guilly and Jeanny, presents many remarkable acrobatic feats on the top of an Eiffel Tower, which is a blaze of coloured lights. A duo of sisters, the Alton Sisters present a clever act on the silver wire. La Belle Onra will be seen in a series of equilibrist novelties, and a charming ’cellist, Dallas Fraser, is sure to be popular. The box plans open at Messrs H. I. Jones and Son’s to-day at 9 a.m.
