At a meeting of the Otago Rugby Union to-night, an application by the Canterbury Football League for the use of a ground for a match between the English team and combined Canterbury and West Cuast was declined. It was decided to support the Auckland R.U. protest against the barring of re-instated League players from representing New Zealand. It was pointed out that Iswerson, for whom tho Auckland Union was apparently appealing, had already played for New Zealand against South Africa, and that there was a principle involved. The New Zealand Union had whitewashed these reinstated players, and they we-e therefore fully eligible to take part in any of th Rugby games. The motion was carried by a large majority.
