U.S. NAVY
UNPREPAREDNESS ALLEGED.
WASHINGTON, May 5.
Representative Britten, a Republican representative on the Naval Committee, announced that ho would introduce a resolution in the House to-day for the purpose of ascertaining the strength of the United States’ Navy, as compared with Britain and Japan. He said he would call the attention of the country to the shocking state of its unpreparedness in the naval scuse, adding: “I am certain our navy is not on a parity with that of Great Britain. I am not so sure that Japan is very far behind us, notwithstanding our right under the Washington Conference Treaty to be nearly twice her size.”
