STRIKE IN MELBOURNE
TRAMWAYMEN GO OUT. MELBOURNE, May 5. Over three thousand tramway men are involved in the strike throughout the cable service and most of the electrical services to-day. The strike was ordered as a protest against the dismissal of a gripman because he refused to continue the instruction of a newly-joined gripman, who, it was stated had enlisted as a special policeman during the police strike.
