WAITOTABA. The following are the results of the Waitotara Dog Trials, held on Mr. H. Wilson’s property, on April 28 and 29: Class 1., Novice Event (Head, pull and drive through hurdles). —H. Guthrie’s “Chep,” 2, 48pts; M. M. Scott’s “Scotty,” and J. Lind’s “Spec,” dead heat, 3rd, 46pts. Class 111. (Short head and yard).— E. Leahy’s “Spark,” 1, 58pts; T. Sullivan’s “Trump,” 2nd, 57pts; R. Guthrie’s “Chep,” 3rd, 53pts; M. M. Scott’s “Scotty,” 4th, 50pts. Class IV. (Huntaway).— M. M. Scott’s “Nell,” 1, 44pts; A. Walker’s “Boy,” 2, 43pts; T. Sullivan’s “Rafferty,” 3, 42pts; A. Master’s “King,” 4, 40pts. Special prizes were awarded as under:—

Best Head (Class I.). —R. K. Anderson’s “Jill”; Best maiden dog (Class II.), J. Lind’s “Spec”; Dog scoring most points in Classes 11. and 111., E. Leahy’s “Spark”; Dog that has never won a cash prize, E. C. Alien’s “Glen”; Dog showing best style at yard in Class 111., E. Leahy’s “Spark”; Dog that has never won a first, second or third prize in an open event at a previous trial, T. Sullivan’s “Trump”; Best team of two dogs, Classes 111. and IV., T. Sullivan’s “Trump” and “Rafferty”; Silver cup for dog that has never won an open event which makes best percentage of points in any open event, T. Sullivan’s “Trump”; Best team of three dogs, one header and two huntaways, M. M. Scott; Best maiden man and dog, Class IV., H. Heal; Best maiden dog in Class IV., T. Sullivan’s “Rafferty”; Dog scoring most points at trials, W. Tocker’s “Carl”; Youngest competitor, J. Barclay; Olde.st competitor, J. H. Baker.

PAPABANGI. The Paparangi Collie Club held their second annual meeting on April 23 and 24, on the property of Mr. G. G. Potts. Although the weather conditions were most unfavourable, the meeting was a very successful one. Mr. J. Hunter ably acted as judge. Results: — Class I. —E. Parsons’ “Pip,” Ist; T. Leahy’s “Spark,” 2nd; G. Paddison’s “Toss,” 3rd. Class lI.—A. E. Barron’s “Scot,” Ist; A. Masters’ “King,” 2nd; H. Ross’s “Jake,” 3rd. Class 111. (Local). —T. Allcock’s “Don,” 44pts., 1; H. Gresham’s “Nigger,” 43 points, 2; R. Richardson’s “Dick,” 41pts., 3. A very pleasing pup, H. Gresham’s “Nigger,” age eight months, showing fair style and firmness, was awarded A. F. Healey’s £1 Is for best local maiden dog, also Mason Struthers’ safety razor set for dog showing best command in local event. T. Harley’s £2 2s for best local maiden dog in Class 11., H. Ross. Donald Ross’s £1 Is for youngest competitor on the ground, H. Ross. Geoffrey Potts’ £2 2s for best all-round dog on the ground, H. Ross. G. G. Potts’ £3 3s for dog making most points in Classes I. and 11., A. E. Barron. Paparangi Collie Club’s £3 3s for drover’s dog scoring most points in Classes I and 11., A. E. Barron. R. Jcfcoate’s £1 for drover’s dog scoring most points in Class 11., A. E. Barron. F. Bristol’s £1 Is for man putting in best work with his dog in local event, R. Richardson. Young and Collins’ cigarette case for maiden man and dog scoring most points in Class 1., E. Parsons. The sheep were kindly supplied by Mr. G. G. Potts. TO BE HELD AT MAXWELLTOWN. Arrangements for the Maxwelltown Dog Trials, which are to eventuate on Mr. F. Handley’s property, Maxwelltown, on Friday, are well in hand. Mr. J. R. Corrigan, M.P., is to act as judge. A fair number of entries have been received for both the short head and yard and the huntaway. Prizes are to be awarded for the novice dog scoring the most points in each event. The committee, at its last meeting, decided to accept post entries for both events. Luncheon will be available on the ground.
