WHEAT PRICES
GOVERNMENT’S DECISION ACCEPTED. (Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, March 14. Mid-Canterbury Farmers’ Union today discussed the Government's reply re wheat price of the next harvest. Mr Hall, chairman of the recent Christchurch Conference, wrote stating that the effect of the Government decision was to reduce the price of the next harvest to 4/7J. He did not think many farmers would waste money growing wheat. After discussion, during which growers expressed relief that they at least knew definitely where they stood, the meeting resolved that this Union accepts the decision of the Government.
